Understanding the Welcome Experience

The Welcome Experience is designed to help you launch your first meaningful A/B test as quickly as possible.

Instead of presenting an empty dashboard, Nelio A/B Testing guides you through the first steps of your optimization journey by giving you more room to test and suggesting tests tailored to your website.

The Welcome Experience is shown automatically the first time you configure Nelio A/B Testing. If you skip it, you can always start creating tests manually from the Tests page.

Temporary Quota Boost

One of the biggest challenges when getting started with A/B testing is collecting enough traffic to obtain meaningful results.

To help new users experience the full potential of Nelio A/B Testing, your website automatically receives a temporary quota boost during your first 14 days, provided that your site is publicly accessible.

The additional quota lets you:

  • launch real tests;
  • collect more visitor data;
  • reach meaningful statistical results; and
  • evaluate Nelio A/B Testing without immediately reaching the Free plan’s monthly quota.

The quota boost is applied automatically—no action is required.

AI-Powered Test Ideas

Knowing what to test is often harder than creating the test itself. To help you get started, the Welcome Experience includes AI-powered suggestions generated by Nelio AI.

After analyzing your homepage, Nelio recommends a selection of optimization opportunities tailored to your website. Current recommendations focus primarily on CSS and Text Tests, since they’re among the simplest and most effective ways to begin optimizing a website.

Typical suggestions include:

  • improving headlines;
  • refining calls to action;
  • updating marketing copy; or
  • making small visual improvements.

These tests require very little effort while often producing measurable improvements.

Create Your First Test

Once you’ve selected one of the proposed opportunities, Nelio A/B Testing prepares a test for you. You can then review the proposed changes, make any adjustments you want, and launch the test when you’re ready.

Of course, you’re not limited to AI-generated ideas. You can create any supported test manually at any time.

Can I Skip the Welcome Experience?

Yes. The Welcome Experience is intended to help new users get started, but it’s completely optional. If you already know what you’d like to test, you can skip the onboarding and begin creating tests immediately. You’ll still have access to AI-powered recommendations and optimization opportunities later from the Overview page.
