Is Nelio AI Secure and Private?
Yes. Nelio AI is optional and can be disabled at any time. It’s designed to generate useful optimization suggestions while limiting the information shared with the AI service to what is needed for that purpose.
What Information Does Nelio AI Use?
To generate suggestions relevant to your website, Nelio AI may analyze information about the content or optimization opportunity you’re working with, such as:
- the content of the page;
- its structure and relevant elements; and
- contextual information needed to understand what could be improved.
If you enable Traffic Analysis and connect Google Analytics, Nelio AI can also use Google Analytics data to improve its suggestions.
Using Google Analytics data is optional and can be enabled or disabled from Nelio A/B Testing → Settings → Recommendation Engine.
What Data Is Shared With OpenAI?
Nelio AI uses the OpenAI API to generate its suggestions. To do so, Nelio sends the information required to analyze the optimization opportunity and generate relevant test ideas.
Nelio does not intentionally send personal or customer-identifiable information to OpenAI as part of this process.
Data sent through OpenAI’s API is encrypted in transit, and OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs aren’t used to train its models by default.
For more information about how OpenAI handles business and API data, see OpenAI’s enterprise privacy information.
You’re Always in Control
If you prefer not to use AI-generated test suggestions, you can disable Use AI to generate test suggestions in Nelio A/B Testing → Settings → Recommendation Engine.
The Optimization Engine can still identify optimization opportunities without using Nelio AI to generate suggestions.
