Is It Possible to Block Individual IPs From Being Tracked?
Yes. Nelio A/B Testing lets you exclude specific IP addresses from being tracked. This is useful if you want to prevent visits from your own IP address, your team, or your office network from affecting your test results.
How to Exclude IP Addresses
- Go to Nelio A/B Testing → Settings.
- Find the Excluded IPs under Tracking Settings.
- Enter the IP addresses you want to exclude, one per line.
- Save your changes.

What Happens When an IP Is Excluded?
Excluding an IP address disables tracking for that visitor, but it doesn’t prevent them from experiencing your tests.
Visitors from excluded IP addresses can still:
- see test variants;
- be assigned to a variant; and
- browse the site with the same alternative content they would normally receive.
However, their activity isn’t recorded. This means their:
- tested page views;
- conversions; and
- other tracked events
won’t contribute to your test results or consume testing quota.
This allows you and your team to browse and review tests without your activity affecting the collected data.
⚠️ Note: Excluding an IP address from tracking isn’t the same as using an IP Address segmentation rule. Excluded IPs can still experience test variants, but their activity isn’t tracked. Segmentation determines whether a visitor is eligible to participate in a particular test
