How to Set Up Popup Advanced Settings in Nelio Popups

Nelio Popups includes advanced settings to manage your popup. These settings increase the functionality of your popup and allows you to increase the complexity of the things you can do with popups on your site.

To set up advanced settings to your popup, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Nelio Popups » All Popups and edit the one you want.
  2. In the editor sidebar, go to the Settings panel, and open the Advanced tab.

There you will find advanced settings to:

  • Deal with multiple popups showing at once
  • Show on mobile devices
  • Limit popup displays
  • Closing a popup
  • Lock body scroll
  • Create a cookie on popup display

Let’s review each of these settings.

Deal with multiple popups showing at once

Nelio Popups allows you to open two or more popups at the same time. It may be the case that there are two or more popups defined at the same location, that can both be displayed. In that scenario, you can prevent opening a popup when there is another one that is already opened.

To change this setting, then check out how to deal with multiple popups opening at the same time in Nelio Popups.

Show on mobile devices

By default, popups created with Nelio Popups are designed to resize responsively. If you need to disable a popup only on a mobile device to comply with Google’s Popup Policy for Mobile Devices, then check out how to disable popups on mobile devices with Nelio Popups.

Limit popup displays

Nelio Popups allows you to limit the number of times a visitor sees your popup. By limiting the popup opens per visitor, you avoid bothering your visitors, which may help you increase the effectivity of your popups.

If you would like to explore this setting, check out how to limit the number of times a visitor sees a popup with Nelio Popups.

Closing a popup

A way of closing a popup is by pressing the ESC key or by clicking somewhere outside the popup container. To access these settings, just find the toggles ‘Close on ESC’ and ‘Close on outside click’.

Just activate the toggles that you want and then you can close your popup by pressing the ESC key or clicking outside the popup.

Lock body scroll

When you open a popup that is not a fullscreen popup, you can still see your page below your popup. Visitors are able to scroll your page down if they want. But you can change this behavior by activating the ‘Lock body scroll’ checkbox.
