Nelio Popups allows you to limit the number of times a visitor sees your popup. By limiting the popup opens per visitor, you avoid bothering your visitors, which may help you increase the effectivity of your popups.
To limit the popup display limits, follow the next steps:
- Go to Nelio Popups » All Popups and edit the one you want.
- In the editor sidebar, go to the Settings panel, and open the Advanced tab.
There you will find two toggles to limit your popup displays.

If you activate the first toggle, you will limit the amount of times a visitor will see the popup. Then, a new setting appears to indicate the number of times you want a visitor to see the popup. There you can type a number to fit your needs. By default, the visitor will only see the popup once.

Next to the ‘Display times’ field you will find the Reset condition. Here you can select ‘Session’ or ‘Custom time’. By default, ‘Session’ is selected, which means that the number of times the visitor will see the popup resets after the session is finished. On a new session, the visitor will see the popup again the number of times you set in the ‘Display times’ field.

On the other hand, if you select ‘Custom time’ as reset condition, you can establish an amount of time in which the number of display times will last. For example, if you select one display in 5 days, then the visitor will only see the popup once every 5 days.
Finally, if you select a number of display times greater than one, a new toggle will appear to ‘Delay consecutive displays’. With this setting you can delay consecutive displays of the same popup for a user.

As an example, if you choose 2 display times per session, but delayed 5 days, then the visitor will see the popup once and won’t see it again until 5 days.
With these settings you can customize the amount of times each popup can be seen by the same visitor.
After setting the options that you want, save the popup and then your decisions will be live.
