The checkbox group field in a form is the designated field for users to enter certain data by checking or unchecking multiple boxes, whether you want the user to select from a set of activities, or food dressings, or to any other preferences you wish them to fill in.
In this entry, we’ll show you all the options available for the checkbox group field with Nelio Forms.

Adding a Checkbox Group Field to Your Form
When creating a new form or editing an existing one, adding an additional checkbox group field is as easy as adding a new Checkbox field block in the block editor. You can use the Block Inserter + icon, or a shortcut slash command or use the More options on any of the block’s toolbar to insert a block.

You should add a descriptive label (the checkbox group field by default has an empty label) if you want it to be accessible.

Below, there is an example of the use of a checkbox group field in a form.

Editing, Adding, and Removing Checkbox Choices
One of the key features of the Checkboxes field is that it lets users select multiple choices. To edit the label for a checkbox, just type your desired text into the field provided.

You can preselect any choice by clicking on the checkbox to the left of its label.

To delete a choice, just click on the Trash icon. You can also add additional options by clicking on the Add option icon.

Checkbox Group Field Settings
In the sidebar, you can set the the following checkbox group field properties:
- Set the display style of the group of checkboxes, whether to display them in a single column or in a horizontal layout,
- Set whether the field is required.

Moreover, as any other block, you can add additional CSS classes to change the styling of the block.
