How to Use the Checkbox Field in Nelio Form

The checkbox field in a form is the designated field for users to enter certain data by checking or unchecking a box, whether they agree to the terms of the website, or agree to receive promotional information or the response to any other preferences you wish them to fill in.

In this entry, we’ll show you all the options available for the checkbox field with Nelio Forms.

Adding a Checkbox Field to Your Form

When creating a new form or editing an existing one, adding an additional checkbox field is as easy as adding a new Checkbox field block in the block editor. You can use the Block Inserter + icon, or a shortcut slash command or use the More options on any of the block’s toolbar to insert a block.

You should add a descriptive label (the checkbox field by default has an empty label) if you want it to be accessible.

Checkbox Field Settings

In the sidebar, you can set the the following text field properties:

  • Set whether the field is required,
  • Set whether it is an opt-in (the box is shown unchecked and the user can click on the box to check it), or an opt-out checkbox (the box is shown pre-checked and the user can click on the box to uncheck it),

Moreover, as any other block, you can add additional CSS classes to change the styling of the block.
