How do I create a new post in the calendar?

To create a new post directly in Nelio’s Editorial Calendar, just click on the contextual action for adding posts (a):

This will open the following dialog:

which contains the following fields:

  • Post Title.
  • Post Category.
  • Post Author.
  • Publication Date and Time.
  • Editorial Information. Additional (and optional) fields that help editors to work with other authors and contributors. In particular:
    • Suggested Reference. A link to another webpage or blog post, probably from a third-party blog, that the author can use. Usually, one would expect authors to link these references in their own posts, but they might only use them to seek inspiration.
    • Initial Comment. A free box where the editor can leave a note to the author. This will appear as an editorial comment.

Once you filled all mandatory fields, you’ll be able to click on the Save button. If something’s wrong, the button will remain disabled. Hovering over the button will tell you what’s wrong.

Another option for creating new posts is using the actions that are included in every single day of the calendar. When hovering over a day in the calendar, a + sign is displayed on the upper right corner. If you hover over this icon with your mouse, the following actions will pop up:

Click on the last button (c) and the dialog for creating new posts we just described will pop up. If you use this approach, the post’s publication date will already be set to the day you used for creating the new post.
