How do I Connect Nelio Content with a Webhook?

Nelio Content allows you to publish your social messages to any external service that supports incoming webhooks. By connecting a webhook, you can automatically send your scheduled social messages to tools like Microsoft Teams, Zapier, Make (Integromat), custom APIs, and more.

This guide explains how to connect a Webhook profile in Nelio Content.

What Is a Webhook Profile?

A Webhook profile is a special type of social profile in Nelio Content that sends your social messages to a custom URL using an HTTP request.

When you connect a webhook:

  • The webhook is configured to send requests using the POST method by default.
  • You can define the destination URL during setup.

Once connected, you can use this profile just like any other social profile inside Nelio Content.

Step 1 – Create or Obtain Your Webhook URL

Before connecting Nelio Content, you must first create an incoming webhook in the service you want to connect to.

Examples:

  • Microsoft Teams → Add an Incoming Webhook connector
  • Zapier / Make → Create a Catch Webhook trigger

Copy the webhook URL provided by the service. You will need it in Step 3.

Step 2 – Start the Webhook Connection in Nelio Content

  1. Go to Nelio Content → Settings → Profiles.
  2. Select Webhook from the list of available networks.

When you start the connection, Nelio Content opens a new dialog, which prepares the setup process by showing you the following configuration screen:

Step 3 – Configure the Webhook Profile

You will see a setup screen where you must provide:

  • Display Name – The name that will appear in your list of social profiles
  • Webhook URL – The full URL provided by your external service

After clicking Continue, Nelio Content:

  • Creates the Webhook social profile
  • Stores the webhook URL in the profile settings
  • Marks the profile as valid and ready to use

You will then be redirected back to Nelio Content and an extended dialog will open where you can configure additional details about the webhook, including the request method, the request headers, and the request body, if needed.

Once you save the changes, the dialog will close and you will see in the list of connected social profiles that it also includes the profile you just connected.
