We’re thrilled to introduce Nelio Content 4.0, a major release focused on two big fronts: new social networks (Band and VK) and a first-class custom status workflow that spans the settings, editorial calendar, and content board. As with previous release posts, we’ll walk through the highlights, show how they help your day-to-day, and then share the full changelog at the end.
Publish to More Places: Band and VK
You asked for broader reach—so we added it.
- Band support. Connect your Band account and publish to your bands right from Nelio Content. Build community, announce releases, or share behind-the-scenes updates where your audience already hangs out.
- VK support. Schedule and publish to VK groups alongside your other social channels. Keep Russian-speaking and Eastern European audiences in your content mix without changing tools.

Both networks integrate with Nelio Content’s scheduling, automation, and analytics flow, so they’re just “one more channel” in your calendar—not one more headache.
Own Your Editorial Flow with Custom Statuses
Every team labels content a little differently. In 4.0, you can make Nelio Content reflect your process.
- Define & manage statuses in Settings. Create the labels you need (for example: Idea, Pitch Approved, In Legal Review, Translate).
- Use them everywhere. Your custom statuses now appear in:
- Status selectors on posts/pages
- Bulk actions
- The Editorial Calendar and the Content Board
- Color-coded at a glance. Calendar and board items show your custom status colors, so your pipeline state is instantly visible.
- Developer-friendly. If you already register statuses via the
nelio_content_post_statusesfilter, 4.0 surfaces them in standard UIs automatically—no extra wiring required.

Result: one unified, visual workflow from idea to publish, tailored to your team.

Nelio Content
I’m so happy about Nelio Content that I will sound like a payed advocate… but here’s why you’ll love it: it works as promised, its auto-scheduling feature is top-notch, Nelio’s value for money is unmatched, and the support team feels like your own.

Plan Faster with Smarter Views
When priorities shift, you don’t want to hunt. New taxonomy filters in both the editorial calendar and the content board make it effortless to narrow your view to exactly what matters—by category, tag, or any custom taxonomy your site uses.
Filter to just those items that matter and keep the meeting focused. And when it’s time to publish, you can optionally add a short delay before social sharing kicks in, giving the WordPress post a moment to go live first so caches warm up, URLs stabilize, and coordinated announcements roll out in a controlled sequence.
If you like tailoring the interface, you’ll appreciate the additional data-* attributes we’ve added to calendar and board items. They make it straightforward to target elements with CSS—by status and more—so you can introduce subtle emphasis or build a color system that matches your internal conventions.
Quality-of-life Improvements for Social Publishing
It’s now easier to confirm what actually went out. Nelio Content shows previews of published messages so you can verify copy and links at a glance.
When the network allows it, we also include a direct link to the live message, making it simple to jump in, react, pin, or follow up with comments without digging through multiple apps.

How This Release Helps Your Team
With 4.0, you can plan and publish with fewer handoffs and more reach. Band and VK join your existing social mix, so announcements, community updates, and evergreen posts flow to more places without changing your routine. You can even stagger the moment social messages go out—letting the WordPress post publish first and the network posts follow—so caches warm up, newsletters align, and big launches feel coordinated. When something ships, you’ll see exactly what was published and, when possible, jump straight to the message on its network to react or pin.
On the planning side, your workflow finally looks like your workflow. Custom statuses you define in Settings appear everywhere you work—status selectors, bulk actions, the editorial calendar, and the content board—and they carry their colors with them, turning the pipeline into a glanceable map from idea to published. When priorities shift, taxonomy filters on both the calendar and the board help you zero in on the slice that matters—say, just product updates in Spanish—so planning sessions stay focused and fast.
All of this rides on a sturdier foundation. Template handling is more reliable (including custom placeholders and fields), notification emails are sanitized correctly, and Open Graph metadata now sets og:url as expected. The net effect is a smoother, more predictable publishing experience that scales with your team.
