Google My Business is a platform from Google that allows you to manage the locations of your business or your organizations. If you want to boost your local SEO, claim your business in Google My Business in order to manage it.
By doing this, the information you enter in Google My Business will appear in both Google search results and Google Maps. I am sure that now you are interested in doing this, right?
Lately Google has added interesting features to Google My Business so businesses can stand out and attract more traffic. One of the things you can do is publish your content in your Google My Business profile, so that it appears in the results of Google search or on Google Maps, as I aforementioned.
But doing it from Google My Business can be a bit annoying. You have to copy and paste texts, links and images from where you create them to Google My Business. Couldn’t you do everything directly from where you create the content? And I mean WordPress here.

How to Connect Your Profile With Nelio Content
The first thing you need to do is install and activate Nelio Content on your WordPress. If you have not done so yet, download the plugin in your WordPress installation now. Come on! I’ll wait for you here…
Done? Perfect, let’s continue… If you go to Nelio Content settings you will see the list of social profiles. It will be empty if you have not connected any. To connect your Google My Business profile you have an icon for this network just below.
You just need to click on the icon to add the location of your business or organization. This will open a popup that will take you to Google to sign in with the Google account that manages the Google My Business location you want to connect.
Choose the Google account you want to use and continue. So far it’s been easy, right?
Now you will see a Nelio Content consent screen within Google. What you are doing here is giving Nelio Content access to your Google My Business profile so that we can publish the contents on your behalf.
You can trust us when we tell you that we only use this to post on your profile. In fact, we had to pass a validation process by Google. We do nothing more than this. In addition, you can revoke these permissions at any time from your Google account.
Once you allow us to access your profile, you will see a screen with the list of locations you have in your Google My Business profile. Now just select the one you want to connect it to Nelio Content.
And if you don’t see the one you want to connect make sure you’re connected to Google with the correct account that has permissions to manage such location.
Once you select the location and press the connect button, the popup will close and you will see the list of social profiles again. Now it includes the location you just connected, and so you can start publishing content there directly from your WordPress.
As you can see, you cannot only connect Google My Business locations. With Nelio Content you can publish on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, and now also Google My Business.

How to Publish Content on Google My Business From WordPress With Nelio Content
To publish content on Google My Business from Nelio Content, the first thing you need to do is create such content. To do this you can go to edit a specific post or page of your WordPress. There you will find the Social Media box, from where you can create a new social message to publish.
You can also do this directly from the Nelio Content calendar if you are a premium user.
From both places, when you start creating the social message you will see a popup like the following:
Here you have to select the Google My Business profile that you connected before (you can see it marked at the top of the window) to indicate that we will publish the message in this location.
Then, write the content you want to publish, select when you want it to be published, and voilà. When you save the message, Nelio Content is responsible for managing and publishing it at the time you indicated. You don’t have to worry about anything else ?.
You can see the result of posting the message on Google My Business if you search your location on Google. In our case, as you can see in the following screenshot, when we search for “Nelio Software” in Google, on the right side we see the data that we have added in Google My Business. There is a section with the published messages, which you can see highlighted:
